Introducing the Cherries Trust Community Fund
As part of an ongoing commitment to the local community, in accordance with its Purpose and Objectives, Cherries Trust today launches its Community Fund Scheme.
Speaking on behalf of the Trust, Community Champion Neil Weedon said “There are many active groups and charities carrying out work within the local community on a not-for-profit basis. They rely on the generosity of others for donations to enable them to continue their highly-valued work.”
“The purpose of the Cherries Trust Community Fund is to enable our members to directly nominate and select not-for-profit causes, projects and organisations to benefit from the donation funds set aside by the Cherries Trust.”
The Trust will be running 2 campaigns during 2024 and 3 campaigns per year from 2025.
To launch the first campaign, the Cherries Trust now welcomes nominations via email to community@cherriestrust.co.uk following which:
- The nomination period for the current campaign will close on 10 April 24
- Nominations received after the close will be carried forward to the next campaign
- A survey will be sent out to members to cast their votes. The voting period closes 8 May 24
- The winning not-for-profit cause, project or organisation will be ratified by the board
- The result will be communicated to members by 15 May 24
- The winner will be presented with their donation on behalf of our members by 22 May 24
You can find a nomination form here. Please do not edit the online copy and instead download either the word document or pdf and email your completed copy to community@cherriestrust.co.uk.
