Board Meeting held on 18 June 2024
Disclaimer: The CT Board has agreed that after each meeting, a summary of the meeting and the key decisions will be made available to Full Members by email. The only exception in this reporting will be that confidential matters will not be included. These notes are a synopsis of the latest meeting, not the official minutes.
Chairs Report:
Not much to report on, the AGM went very smoothly, thanks in a large part to Gayle getting everything organised beforehand. Now the AGM is out of the way we do need to crack on with the work streams.
Treasurers Report:
No issues to report. Gayle submitted the accounts to the FCA and they are now published on their website. Need to get the bank details from Neil for the Poole and District Children’s Cancer Trust to get that payment made – ready to go with it.
Supporter Liaison Report re enquiries:
Main feedback has been regarding the B2B minutes. Couple of membership enquiries & a couple of ticketing issues that we have liaised with Nick on.
New Board Members
Sam Viney, who we advised had been co-opted onto the board previously, was elected at the AGM in May. She will take on the role of Supporter Liaison Officer. Adam Sevenoaks was also elected at the AGM and will take on the role of Youth Ambassador. We welcome both of them to the board and look forward to working with them.
Newsletters
The Q2 newsletter will be coming out in the next couple of weeks and preparations have already now started for the Q3 newsletter.
Community Trust Fund
Neil has done the cheque presentation to Poole and District Children’s Cancer fund. We are currently awaiting a quote from the CEO and Neil will then be sending out an email to our members with the full details.
Youth Ambassador
We now have a youth ambassador to represent the younger members of the fanbase. It is a new role and will be developed and refined over time. If you have any suggestions as to what you think we can do to attract and engage with young members, then please let us know.
Membership Scheme
In an effort to continue to grow the supporter base, while continuing to recognise the passion and commitment of supporters currently attending matches at Vitality Stadium, the club is planning to introduce a new membership scheme from season 2025/26. They will be working with the Trust, Fan Advisory Board, Disabled Supporters Association and Supporter Experience Group on this. The club has already provided extensive research into the membership scheme of other teams around the league, and this will be a year-long consultation period. As the research and fan consultation period is in progress, we do not yet have exact details as to how the membership scheme will work. However, the Trust will perform its own research as well into schemes currently offered by other clubs and the variations in benefits offered. From this, the Trust will be putting together a survey that will be sent to members in due course to seek their views on what they would like to see included, or not included, in a membership scheme. The content of the survey will be agreed by all parties before being sent out. The fanbase as a whole will be consulted and there will be opportunities for fans to discuss preferences, questions and concerns with the Trust and other fan groups. Our goal to help the club establish the best membership options available for supporters, while continuing to recognise the loyalty of groups including season ticket holders and maximum point holders. The Trust will share updates as they become available, but please be aware this process will continue for several months, and the club anticipates it will introduce the new membership scheme closer to the end of the 2024/25 season.
Club Liaison: Hannah Powis
Hannah Powis, the SLO at the club attended the meeting. She welcomed the new board members and said that she looked forward to working with them in the future. She stated that she appreciates the relationship between the club and the Trust, the club are comfortable with it when the Trust do come to them with issues, and that we are able to have those conversations when they are needed. The Fan engagement review is due, it gets reviewed at the end of the of the season to compare what the club committed to do and what they have actually done. Feedback from fan groups helps the club understand where they have got things right and where they may still need to improve upon. The club, and her as SLO, want to keep building on the progress made so far.
Should you have anything you wish to raise with the Trust – comments, suggestions, complaints then please email the Trust SLO on info@cherriestrust.co.uk or via the general enquiries@cherriestrust.co.uk email address.
