The Cherries Trust Partner With Her Game Too, As We Work Together To Help Tackle Sexism in Football
As a football supporters group every single fan matters to us, and as we have a platform, we also like to use it to highlight and promote causes where underrepresentation is happening, which is why today we are announcing that we have officially partnered with Her Game Too.
Founded in 2021, Her Game Too is a voluntary campaign led by a team of dedicated female football fans, who are passionate about creating a positive change in football and the wider sporting world, with the ultimate goal being to create a safe and welcoming environment for literally everyone.
Heather Hoggatt, Cherries Trust Community Champion said of this announcement, “I am thrilled that we have partnered with Her Game Too and we can work together so that all fans feel safe and welcome at AFC Bournemouth games. Both the CT and HGT are here to be a voice for Cherries fans and to align on key issues just makes perfect sense.”
Cherries Trust Chair, Andy Smith Said of the partnership, “This is something we’ve been working on for a while in the background and has been a priority since I took the role of Chair, so it’s great we’ve managed to get this off the ground so soon”.
This announcement comes just a week after Cherries Trust announced our community donation scheme, with our first going to Talking Cherries, to help them renew their MHFA certificates. We donated an initial £250, and these donations have been coming in since.
Cherries Trust are a voluntary, independent, not-for-profit organisation, relying solely on membership fees and donations to cover running costs. We are the only independent Supporters Trust for AFC Bournemouth.
