Forthcoming AGM & Board Member Elections
By now you should have received the email notifying you of the forthcoming AGM and Board Member Elections. In the elections, we have 3 spaces available on the Board and we would like to fill them all.
Since last November, we have made a great deal of progress, improving the underlying governance of the Trust, improving transparency to you through regular communications by email and social media and understanding the issues that are important to you through our recent members’ survey.
We have streamlined the way we deal with enquiries from you and the wider fanbase, publishing a performance report so everyone can see how we are doing against our stated aims. The contacts with the club have broadened out from enquiry management to membership of the Club’s EDI Group and soon we will be having our first Board-to-Board meeting since the takeover.
We have completed some projects to improve the image of the Trust and our offer to you. We launched a new identity and logo a little while back and published a new Member’s Handbook so you know better how things work. In the near future some new things will be launched including a quarterly Newsletter in a few weeks and a new website towards the end of the season.
As a consequence, membership has grown to its highest in the past 10 years.
We can only do this because of the work of individual Board members. To continue at this pace and to bring fruition the other ideas we have, we need to fill all 3 vacant posts on the Board. And this brings me to the reason for this email.
YOUR BOARD NEEDS YOU!
Its not a huge commitment, just 10 meetings a year and a little work in between meetings. So, if you have the time and space, and want to make a difference for the wider AFCB community, and help ensure that they are not forgotten as the club changes under the new ownership, we ask you to join us.
You can download the Nomination Form here. It takes 10 minutes to complete and email back to us. If you have any questions, please email us at enquiries@cherriestrust.co.uk.
Hope to have you on board soon!
