Election Results & AGM Feedback

The Cherries Trust AGM was held last night via zoom.

Ian White, acted as the Independent EMG Chair, and hosted the elections ahead of the AGM business. Three of the current board stood for re-election as per the Society Rules, alongside one recently co-opted board member and one other member who put themselves up for election. There were 7 positions available on the board for election. As there were as many or fewer candidates the election was held under Rule 7.1, an affirmatory vote. All five candidates received the required number of votes to be elected. The results of the elction were as follows:

• Gayle Hope (Society Secretary) – re-elected 95.7% votes
• Matt Jackson (FSA & Trusts) – re-elected 95.7% votes
• Gareth Case (Membership Secretary) – re-elected 91.3% votes
• Adam Sevenoaks – elected 91.3% votes
• Sam Viney – elected 91.3% votes

Adam will be taking on the new role of the Trust’s Youth Ambassador and Sam will continue as the SLO.

Following the election Ian White signed the Election Certificate confirming the election was quorate and all candidates had received the required number of votes for election to the board.

Heather Hoggatt, Trust Chair then proceeded with the AGM business. There were five General Resolutions voted on by members:

• General Resolution 1: Acceptance of minutes of previous AGM
• General Resolution 2: Acceptance of accounts for period ending 31 December 2023
• General Resolution 3: The members of the Society shall not require an audit for the accounts for the period ending 31 December 2023
• General Resolution 4: Appointment of Independent Examiner
• General Resolution 5: Endorsement of policies

All resolutions passed unanimously.

Members were given the opportunity to ask questions of the directors, in particular into the annual return and Trust’s business carried out. There were no questions.

The Trust Secretary has submitted the accounts to the FCA today, in accordance with our legal requirements. They will be published on the FCA website in due course.
