Chair’s Christmas Message – December 2022

Chair’s Christmas Message – December 2022

Proper football has restarted, just in time for the festive glut – long may it continue!

I’d like to start my first personal message by saying a big thank you to our loyal members! We have come through a turbulent period, thanks in no small part to those of you who have supported the Cherries Trust throughout. There is no doubt that without your support and encouragement, we may well have been in a different place.

I’d also like to thank and welcome those of you that have joined us more recently. Thanks to you, we are approaching a 5-year high in membership numbers. There is no hiding the fact that we are still one of the smaller Supporter Trusts, but if we can continue this type of growth, that will change.

2023 is about to begin and with many changes, we are working towards building new relations with the club, but also importantly with our membership. There are a number of key issues that we will be working on – namely the Premier League’s aims for each club to submit a Fan Engagement Plan by the end of January, and how we can offer our support and involvement to the club in this area.

With that, our request to you this Christmas is that you please become part of our extended recruitment arm. If each of you brings in just one new member, we will become larger than ever. We all know someone who could become a member, perhaps they sit next to you at games, a family member, or somebody who drinks at your local?

We appreciate that things are tight right now, but if anyone can spare that £10 to help the Trust in its efforts to grow and be stronger for its members, we would be hugely grateful. You can find the payment link here, along with a short signup form here.

All here at the Cherries Trust wish you a very Merry Christmas, we hope you enjoy the festivities and as always – UTCIAD
