Board Meeting – April 2024 – Synopsis
The CT Board has agreed that after each meeting, a summary of the meeting and the key decisions will be made available to Full Members by email. The only exception in this reporting will be that confidential matters will not be included. These notes are a synopsis of the latest meeting, not the official minutes.
Chairs Report:
It’s been great to see the ongoing reaction to the Luton initiatives and to go to Kenilworth road to receive a “Beacon of Light” trophy with Matt. Pleased to have the community fund up and running and at least one of the work streams underway. I’m excited to get some ideas started for next season to grow both our membership and offering. Preparations for the AGM seem to be going smoothly, which is down to Gayle’s hard work and preparedness.
Treasurers Report:
Nothing unusual, budget still on track. Accounts for AGM are in progress. Completion anticipated in the next week.
Supporter Liaison Report regarding enquiries:
Most feedback this month has been from non-members on Twitter. General anger and/or discontent about the club choosing to enforce the no standing rule in non-designated safe standing areas and why are we not challenging them over it. A general refusal to accept these are the regulations that we all agree to when purchasing tickets and we cannot tell the club to not enforce regulations that are set at a National level that all clubs must adhere to.
AGM:
The notice of the 2024 AGM has been issued. The closing date for nominations to stand to the Board and members motions is tomorrow. As things stand there are 5 nominations for 7 positions, so an affirmatory vote is anticipated. There have been no motions from members received at this stage.
Newsletters:
Work on the Q2 newsletter, due out in June, has started. Gayle and Sam will be responsible for preparing it and getting it out on time.
Community Trust Fund:
The Community Trust Fund has now been launched. We are delighted with the level of engagement from our members for the first campaign. We have received a number of nominations for worthy causes. The Community Champion will put together information regarding the top 3 nominated causes so that our members can look at each of them in detail. The voting period will start in about 2 weeks’ time, and you will have the opportunity to vote for your chosen cause.
Board to Board Meeting:
We are currently working on a date for the next Board to Board meeting. A suitable date is being looked at late in May depending on relevant participants availability. The board will be putting together a draft agenda over the next week, taking note of members feedback. The members priority survey and the recent ticketing survey have been sent to the club already and will be included in the B2B meeting.
